A tour to Pico del Calamorro (Calamorro Peak) through the Cañada del Lobo (Wolf’s Trail).

We will find different terrain and various types of trails in this area which runs through Benalmadena and Torremolinos, and where the European Enduro Series, took place back in 2015.
Fast bike natural trails, with various challenging sections mixed with other easier bits. You will enjoy great views of the Costa del Sol.
The trail will be quite steep at a times and will get easier when zigzagging, alternating climbs with some flat bits.
Once the last climb is over, we will enjoy the best views of this route, where you will see some mountain refuges and the iconic Mirador del Lobo (Wolf’s viewpoint), guarded by the majestic sculpture of a hauling wolf. There is no more significant climbs from this point onwards.
We will get to the Pico del Calamorro, where the cable car is located, in order to start the descent.

Learn a bit more about the Cañada del Lobo
The Cañada del Lobo is an area located right in the Sierra de Torremolinos, although the trail will take us to the municipality of Benalmadena, and also through Alhaurin de la Torre.
In this area, we will get to see a mountain refuge, a hostel and a viewpoint with some of the best views of the coast, also the Sierra de Torremolinos and most of what is known as Hoya de Malaga (Malaga’s Saucepan).
Within the valuable ecosystem where this area is located, there is loads of low shrubs, typical from the mediterranean climate, varios types of pin trees, a good few holm oaks and others types of trees also related to these.
We will also find some wild olive trees, french lavender, gorse or marjoram, although the most relevant variety is the palmetto, a small kind of palm tree that gives the tour and extra exotic touch.
Regarding the wild life we might spot, there is mountain goats, occasionally seen at the highest points of the route, also birds of prey such as sparrow hawks, kestrels or booted eagles.
